Adventures and emotions await as you navigate challenging paths, scrabbling up heights, and experiencing the adrenaline rush of motorcycle riding in Peru.
Machu Picchu, a citadel shrouded in mystery, continues to baffle archaeologists who have not fully uncovered its history and purpose. Occupying an area of about one square kilometer, this stone city stands in a region deemed magical by the Incas, where the Andes Mountains meet the mighty Amazon River. Let us take you on a thrilling motorcycle journey to Machu Picchu!!!
Highlights:
Early in the morning, around 7 am, we depart for the Sacred Valley of the Incas, covering 65 km of asphalt road until we reach the village of Ollantaytambo. From there, we ascend to the Malaga pass (4120 meters above sea level), traversing a zigzagging road and witnessing breathtaking landscapes of the Peruvian Andes. Descending approximately 2000 meters in altitude, we observe the remarkable changes in weather and vegetation from the high-Andean region to the almost-tropical Santa Teresa valley, marking the beginning of the Peruvian jungle. We secure the motorcycles and continue by car to the Hydroelectric train station of Machupicchu, then arrive in Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay in a hotel.
The excursion to the Machu Picchu citadel starts early. After breakfast, you'll be transferred to the station for a bus journey to the Inca ruins of Machupicchu. Enjoy over 2:30 hours exploring Machupicchu with an expert guide before returning to Aguas Calientes. After the guided tour, take a lunch break in Aguas Calientes town, then return to Santa Teresa by train and spend the night in a basic hostel.
Early in the morning, around 8 am, we depart with our motorcycles for Cusco. We anticipate arriving in Cusco in the afternoon.
