1 day.- CUSCO / HUAMBUTIO /PISAQ / CUSCO We leave Cusco at 8.00 am and head south-east to where the Cusco valley meets the Urubamba river near the town of Huambutio, where we will begin our descent of the river. Here the river passes through a young valley with interesting views of volcanic formations and the mountain known as Pachatusán. We pass through the town of San Salvador close to the famous pilgrimage site of El Señor de Huanca. Just beyond the town we will stop for a picnic lunch before continuing to Pisac from where we will take a bus to Cusco in the afternoon. This trip is for beginners, with Grade Two rapids.
