1 day.- ARRIVAL IN PERU . Arrival at Lima. Transfer to hotel
2 day.- LIMA / HUARAZ. An early morning starts to travel the 400 km to Huaraz. After journeying north along the Panamericana Highway as far as Pativilca we begin our gradual ascent to Huaraz. Overnight in Huaraz.
3 day.- HUARAZ / CHAVIN DE HUANTAR / HUARAZ Leaving in the early morning we will drive as far as Catac, from where we will take the road to Chavín de Huantar, passing the Querococha lagoon and going through the Cahuish tunnel, which at 580 metres is the longest tunnel in Peru. We then descend through the Conchucos valley along a narrow road that will take us to the ruins of Chavín, remarkable for its stonework and ceramics. Return to Huaraz in the afternoon. (Total distance: 250 km)

4 day.-HUARAZ / LAGUNA DE LLANGANUCO / CALLEJÓN DE HUAYLAS / HUARAZ We will leave in the morning to travel by private transportation to Yungay, enjoying the magnificent scenery of the Callejón de Huaylas along the way. The town of Yungay was destroyed in the 1970s when an earthquake caused a huge mudslide that swept away the village. From Yungay we will continue on to the Llanganuco lagoon, surrounded by the snowcapped peaks of Peru's highest mountains, Huascaran and Huandoy. The turquoise waters of this high lake are surrounded by almost a perpendicular wall. |
5 day.- HUARAZ / TRUJILLO. We begin our journey to Trujillo in the early morning, visiting the pre-Inca ruins of Sechin on the way and admiring the beautiful scenery. Finally, the Panamericana Highway will take us north along the desert coast to Trujillo, Peru's second largest and also second most industrialized city. Transfer to hotel.

6 day.- TRUJILLO.
A day to visit the colonial city of Trujillo as well as the ruins around. We will visit the Chimu culture mud city of Chan-Chan and the Moche culture temples of the Sun and the Moon. We will also visit the beaches of Huanchaco, famous for the totora reed rafts that fishermen have used since the time of the Moche. Return and overnight in Trujillo.
7 day.- TRUJILLO / CHICLAYO. In the morning we leave for Chiclayo, visiting the Moche site of El Brujo and the Bruning Museum in Lambayeque to see the fabulous treasures from the tomb of the Lord of Sipán. Overnight in Chiclayo.

8 day.- CHICLAYO / CHACHAPOYAS. We will leave in the early morning along the paved highway to Pedro Ruiz, after which the scenery will begin to change dramatically as we continue as far as Chachapoyas. Overnight in Chachapoyas Chiclayo
9 day.- CHACHAPOYAS / KUELAP / LEIMEBAMBA. An early start to drive to the ruins of Kuelap. After 2 hours we reach Tingo, and one hour later we arrive at the base of the mountain which is home to the spectacular ruined fortress of Kuelap. We go up to the ruins on foot, returning to our vehicle after our visit to continue on to Leimebamba. Overnight in Leimebamba.

10 day.- LEIMEBAMBA / CAJAMARCA. After a morning visit to the Leimebamba archaeological museum to see the more than 100 mummies that were discovered at Laguna del Condor, we will begin our journey to Cajamarca. This route is one of the most spectacular journeys in Peru, crossing deep gorges and valleys. Passing through Celendin, we will arrive in Cajamarca where we will spend the night.
11 day.- CAJAMARCA. A day to visit the colonial town of Cajamarca, famous for its churches, the Inca's Bath, the ruins at Otusco and the fertile surrounding countryside |
12 day.- CAJAMARCA / LIMA / OUT.
An early morning transfer to Cajamarca airport for our flight to Lima. On arrival in the capital we will board a bus and visit both the modern and the colonial areas of the city, including the Cathedral, San Francisco church and the GoldMuseum.
You will then be transferred to Jorge Chávez International Airport for your flight to your home country.
